Start with Chief Farris
You begin in Kamo Village with a weapon class still unchosen and no magic. Talk to Chief Farris to open the tutorial chain. Track it with J. Spend stat points in Tab as soon as the first points appear, and during Captain Dalen's wolf hunt use the Basic Technique Token in your inventory if it is there. That token unlocks one skill.
Walk the village in this order
- Vulcan, the blacksmith, offers one starter. Take Gauntlets for light, Novice Blade or Rustic Spear for medium, or the Longsword for heavy. The class stays locked until you wipe the slot.
- Eira's Request. The quest record says Harvest Bamboo and pays 180 EXP and 25 Marks. Some walkthroughs also say to bring Wolfsbane.
- Johan, Winds of Freedom. Bring 1 Cloth and 2 Wood. The reward is 200 EXP, 25 Marks, and the broom.
- Old Roderick. Mine 3 ores in the cave behind the large Alchemist Tower, north to north-east of the blacksmith.
- Captain Dalen. Hunt 3 Wild Wolves in the Kamo outskirts, then report to Dalen and back to Chief Farris.
- Guild Hall. Talk to Eleanor, press U, click the Mission Bird, and clear the F-rank mission. Return to Chief Farris to close the tutorial.
What the starter actually locks
Gauntlets are the fast light line that later reaches Clover Gauntlets. Novice Blade is the balanced medium sword. Rustic Spear is medium with 9.5 range. The Longsword is the slow heavy line. Medium has 22 of the 53 weapons, light 16, heavy 15. If you are unsure, medium keeps the most later choices. Wiping to swap class also wipes progress. You choose whether the wipe keeps the grimoire. Race and family stay.
Before level 15
Learn parry on Dalen's wolves: tap F just before the hit, and do not hold block until the posture bar breaks you. Open the Inner Realm from the U menu to meditate for traits. Do not plan around a Bounty Hunter trait. A beginner tip says it halves PvE XP, but that trait is not in the current trait configuration. Pick-Me-Up, which makes you drop 40% fewer items on death, is listed at level 21, not level 15.
The next hard gate is Arcane Whispers at level 15. Use the level route, then the grimoire ceremony.
